The story of Bërsërk started in early 2024.
Bërsërk is a Black Metal project with sub-genres such as, Atmospheric, Pagan, Tolkien, and Ambient Black Metal. Created by James Caisley (Aka. “Count Caisley”), Bërsërk is a project inspired by other bands such that as, Mayhem, and Burzum. With James' love of Mayhem, Bërsërk attempts to create a dark and sinister image, heavily inspired by the 2018 movie: Lords of Chaos and the Black Metal scene. James is also heavily inspired by Dystopia. Dystopia's lyrics often dealt with human emotions and social or political issues such as environmentalism, racial equality, substance abuse, and animal rights. James was born on July 2nd 2008 and was raised in a small town north of Newcastle Upon Tyne. He struggled to socialise growing up which impacted him during his teenage years. He was later diagnosed with mental health issues leading to a state of depression. James attempts to express his thoughts and feelings of the world and society through music. His first album The Nocturnal Fame tells a story of a made up God (Nocturnal) born into the world filled with euphoria and hope. As he experiences more of the world’s damage, his rage builds up and he takes his own life.
